• Beamline Update: Robot in WLE Beamline

  The Brockhouse low energy wiggler beamline (SOE1) has completed an upgrade to its high resolution powder diffraction station. The Huber end-station now uses 8 Mythen detectors instead of 1, reducing data collection time to a few minutes. We have also installed a robot to automatically change through samples, greatly increasing our throughput.

  
  

• Beamline Update: New Eiger Detector

  We have a new state of the art Dectris Eiger2 detector, primarily for use on the high energy beamline! It is very fast and has no dark current, no memory, and no pixel spread.

  
  

• Beamline Update: New Detector for HE Beamline

  The high energy beamline just aquired a new Varex XRD4343 detector. It is slightly larger than the old Perkin Elmer but has a small pixel size of 150 um.

  The low energy and high energy wiggler beamlines have entered the general user program and will be accepting proposals during the next proposal call at the end of July. This proposal will be for mail-in only due to COVID-19.

• Beamline Update: LOI for small molecule station

  On May 3rd the Bruker small molecule end-station entered the Letters of Intent (LOI) phase and is now accepting fast access proposals. Contact a beamline staff member if interested. This is the first LOI for Brockhouse and a huge milestone!
